Dr. P. Vishnu Dev teaches Sociology discipline at the Osmania University, Hyderabad, India. He is the Visiting Professor at the Department of Indology and Comparative Religions, Tübingen University, Germany. His extensive field work experience and several research projects carried out on Tribal communities in India have broaden the proper understanding of forgers in the context of modern development model. He published several articles in national and international journals. His research areas include: Tribal Studies, Hunters- Gatherer Societies, Political Sociology and Religious Studies. He combines academic pursuit with various administrative experiences. Presently he is serving as the State Liaison Officer, Government of Telangana State, India. Previously, he held several administrative positions such as 'Chairman', Board of Studies, Department of Sociology, Osmania University; 'Director', Empanelled Training Institute, OU, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India; Coordinator, National Service Scheme, OU, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India, Director, Equal Opportunity Cell, OU, sponsored by the University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi.
